ABOUT US
Runners for Haiti is a community oriented program primarily focused on participating in running events to raise funds to support Haitian cultural activities in U.S. schools. In addition to our fundraising efforts, we promote fellowship, togetherness, good health and lots of fun as added benefits.

The concept of "Runners for Haiti" emerged from a conversation with a high school teacher in Orange, New Jersey. The teacher expressed concern about the limited resources available for highlighting the Haitian experience in schools. There was a particular focus on enhancing the observance of Haitian Flag Day, aiming to educate students about various aspects of Haitian culture. These aspects include literature, history, dance, music, theater, movies, arts, and cuisine. The goal is to instill pride in Haitian students and broaden their understanding of their heritage, while also sharing the richness of Haitian culture with the wider community.
As someone who has been a road runner for much of my life, primarily for mental and physical health benefits, I noticed the effectiveness of road running as a fundraising tool for various organizations. This observation led me to add a new dimension to my running-'running for a cause'.
The central aim of 'Runners for Haiti' is to support the ongoing effort to keep people of Haitian descent, both young and old, connected to their Haitian heritage. Additionally, the initiative seeks to share and celebrate the Haitian experience with the larger community, fostering greater understanding and appreciation.
Join us in running races from January to November throughout the U.S. and abroad!
